Our belief, as expressed in our Doctrinal Basis, is that:
"The Bible, as originally given, is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is the supreme authority in all matters of belief and behaviour."
This fits with what the Bible says about itself:
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." -- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
Consequently, we encourage people to read and study the Bible for themselves. This site has a few things to help that. There is a scheme of daily readings to go through the entire Bible in a year, (or two, or four) with the New Testament and Psalms being read twice.
There are Bible verses displayed on many pages of this site. These are randomly selected from a list. A list of the verses used, and how this is done, can be seen here.
One aspect of our behaviour that the Bible should influence is our prayer. We have a short list of passages in the Bible on the subject of prayer, which can help inform our own prayers.
